www.greener-cities.eu is the official homepage of the European project HOSANNA (HOlistic and Sustainable Abatement of Noise by optimized combinations of Natural and Artificial means). The project will result in a toolbox for the reduction of road and rail traffic noise in the outdoor environment, which is cost effective and shows positive effects on the environment as a whole. The project focuses on noise abatements during the propagation path, dealing with greening of buildings and use of vegetation on other urban and rural surfaces, innovative barriers including recycled materials, and treatments of the ground and the road surface.

HOSANNA is a collaborative Project under the Seventh Framework Programme, Theme 7, Sustainable Surface Transport.

The project started in November 2009 and is planned to run for three years. The project is coordinated by Chalmers University of Technology. read more...
